End of october and I got the news of hotels and vacation rentals that they are booked up for New Years Eve. In my view Vienna is getting more popular every single year. Everyone is talking about financial crises, stocks falling with no end, but it seems to be always enough time and enough money for a short party break to Vienna :).

It is interesting to see that every year Vienna is booked up and again every year the most booking requests are received within the last two weeks before the arrival. What a pitty that you have to tell all those people that they cannot come to Vienna - or at least find no place to sleep.

I recommend to use meta search engines for free rooms or try big websites with many apartments and make a request that is not too specific. There are still enough accomodations free all over Vienna, but especially the inner city locations are booked up. Personally I would try Hotels or Apartments outside of the Gürtel - that are the districts 15 - 19. With the tramways (driving all night long on Silvester) you easily can get home from the city center in half an hour and the price should be reasonable there.

So if you still need an apartment in Vienna I wish you good luck!

Austria lost its first match against Croatia because of a stupid penalty in the first minutes. Today this must not happen! The fans are needed they have to be the 12th man on the field

So lets start singing: “Hey, hey Hicke, hey Hicke hey - hebt alle hoch den SCHAL!”

The fanzone in Vienna should be red-white-red today - not just red-white for poland!

Is anyone out there still looking for an apartment/hotel room in Vienna for the final match of the euro 2008 on June 29th ? I can still provide a modern apartment for 2 - 3 persons in the 2nd district in the middle of the Prater Stadium and the Fanzone in the Inner City.

The best start is at the beginning ;). I want to share in this blog my experiences with travelling to vienna. I personally live in Vienna, but as my family has a small apartment rental I had to learn a lot about my hometown. F.ex I did not know the prices of taxis or where are the best restaurants in the inner city - If you think about it you will see that you do not know much about your own town, because you  only use very few things.
